Caroline Côté

Polar Academy, Logistics

Caroline Côté is a polar explorer, ultra-runner tearing up over 160km and adventure filmmaker in some of the most remote places on the planet. She is best known for her Antarctic record. In 2023, she became the fastest woman to reach the South Pole, solo and unassisted, beating the previous world record by almost five days. She skied the 1140km from Hercules Inlet to the South Pole in 33 days, 2 hours and 53 minutes.

It was also the first winter crossing of Spitsbergen in the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard that put her in the spotlight. Accompanied by polar explorer Vincent Colliard, they covered 1135km in 63 days, in complete autonomy. She has also completed several other major expeditions, including a 2,000 km solo crossing of Quebec in 74 days, a 2-month canoe trip down the Yukon River, and two explorations of the Antarctic Peninsula.

She is also an advocate for conservation and environmental sustainability, using her expeditions as a platform to raise awareness of the importance of protecting our planet's fragile ecosystems. Through her writing, public speaking and outreach efforts, she strives to inspire others to connect with nature and become environmental stewards. And her passion for audiovisual work has led her to make quality adventure documentaries with complex environmental features.

As a member of the Polarstar Explorers team, Caroline embodies the spirit of exploration and discovery, bringing her wealth of experience and expertise to guide and inspire you on your own expeditions.
