Service Description
Join us on an unforgettable experience to climb Skotstind, a majestic peak which rises above the charming village of Nordskot. This is Vincent’s favorite summer climb in Steigen! 671 meters above sea level, Skotstind offers not only a thrilling climbing challenge but also unparalleled panoramic views of the surrounding fjords, mountains, and the enchanting Lofoten islands on the horizon. The climb to its summit is an exhilarating adventure, taking between 8 to 12 hours to complete. We will ascend via the Eastern ridge, navigating several pitches of pure granite before reaching the top. Once on the summit, we will descend slightly before climbing one final pitch. The descent will involve multiple rappels, providing an adrenaline-pumping journey back to Nordskot. Along the way, we'll have the opportunity to stand on a rock platform sticking out from the mountain and in the void, offering the perfect opportunity for capturing stunning photographs. Ps: we offer you a good coffee before departure! Climbing level: 4 (Nor/Swe), 4+ (UIAA), 5.4 (USA) Mandatory equipment: - Trekking (high) or mountaineering shoes - Membrane pants - Membrane jacket - Synthetic or down jacket - Fleece or sweater - 1st top layer (no cotton) - Backpack - Gloves - Beanie - Sunglasses - Lunch (cereal bars, sandwichs) - Bottle of water Recommended equipment: - 1st layer in wool or synthetic at the bottom and top - Woolen socks - Buff - Cap - Solar cream - Thermos Hardware included: - Guide - Harness - Helmet - Ropes - Safety equipment Hardware not included: - Transport to Nordskot - Insurance - Food during the hike How to get there: Step 1 - Bodø by plane (Norwegian, SAS, Wideroe), by train (Vy), by car or by bus (Reise Nordland). Date & booking time You can change your booking date without any additional charges. If you want to book less than 6 hours from the departure of the trip, please give us a call +47 969 25 807. Refund. You get a full refund if you cancel your trip 2 weeks or more before the start of the activity. You get a 50% refund if you cancel your trip from 7 to 13 days before the start of the activity. You get a 25% refund if you cancel your trip from 3 to 6 days before the start of the activity. You get a 0% refund if you cancel your trip from 1 to 2 days before the start of the activity. Price policy. If you book a trip solo and no other people have booked it, you will pay a higher price to get the trip going.However, if other people booked the same trip at the same date, you consequently end up in a group. We will refund you the difference. For example, you book the « Nordic summer skiing on Svartisen for 1 person the 1st of July. You pay NOK 4000. One or more people also book for the same date. You become then a group. So you will end up paying NOK 2500 / person for the trip and we will refund NOK 1500 on your account.
